PSPHP formed a technical group to discuss how we, as a society of public health physicians, can be of help to the country as we battle the COVID-19 pandemic. The group includes experts in hospital management, disease surveillance, epidemiology, health systems, public management, community health, risk communication, disaster management, and infectious diseases.

The fruit of weeks worth of discussion was a technical guidance to local government units to help them in their response to flatten the curve.

Today, PSPHP Drs. Lester Geroy and Michael Caampued, with the support of Drs. Aileen Espina and Miguel Dorotan, met with the Pasig City team and discussed local government measures that are evidence-based and congruent with WHO and DOH protocols.

We would also like to acknowledge the rest of the technical support group: Dr. Lopao Medina, Dr. Miguel Salazar, Dr. Kathy Reyes, Dr. Lei Camiling-Alfonso, Dr. Bryan Albert Lim, and the volunteers from the UP College of Medicine Class 2022: C Martinez, J Masula, A Mea, RK Mercado and G Morales.
