University of Washington Leadership and Management in Health, Facilitated by PSPHP
Now with 10 PRC CPD for Medicine! PSPHP will be one of the site facilitators for the 2024 run of University of Washington's Leadership and Management in Health Professional Course.
This leadership and management course, which will run from September 23 to December 1, 2024, equips you with the practical skills needed to lead organizations and manage teams effectively in today's complex healthcare landscape, from local clinics to global health initiatives. The course delves into the challenges and considerations of leading and managing in these diverse environments. You'll gain a strong understanding of these issues while developing your own leadership style and practical management techniques.
This online course has video lectures, readings, discussion forums, quizzes, and three assignments. PSPHP, as the local site facilitator, will conduct at least four online meeting sessions with the students (attendance to three meetings is required), and potentially some face-to-face meetings, to discuss the concepts and their real-world and local applications. PSPHP will also invite local resource persons who specializes in leadership and management in health to further enrich the learning, as well as public health leaders to see how the concepts apply in public health.
Each week, the students will learn the following concepts:
- The Leading and Managing Framework
- Leadership and Building Teams
- Supervising and Delegating
- Conflict Management
- Communicating Effectively
- Influence Without Authority
- Systems Thinking
- Program and Project Management
- Using Data for Management Decision Making
- Accountability and Financial Management
PSPHP's site facilitators will be the following:
- PSPHP Secretary-General Theo Prudencio Juhani Capeding
- PSPHP Deputy Secretary-General Paulo Remudaro
- PSPHP Deputy Secretary-General Alberto Ong Jr.
